I'm from Alabama....I was hit pretty hard by a tornado. Anyway, the part of my house I kept most of my knives (the garage/man cave)was completely destroyed. I lost majority of my blades. This included my very first wilderness knife, a Becker Bk1 Brute. I was really attached to it and I still used it up until I lost it. It now resides somewhere in the next county or state.

Soooo I really would like to replace it...anybody have one for sale? I really don't want to spend "collector price" on it. Some people are really ridiculous with prices these days and I don't have collector money because I'm rebuilding my home at the moment. A user/second whatever is perfectly ok, as mine had been through hell and back.

While I'm at it, if Ethan would like to chime in...Why doesn't KaBar make it??

Sorry to hear about your loss LedZep13k7. I hope you will find another BK1 as you rebuild your home.

Best wishes!

Hope you find one at a decent price. In the mean time, you might consider a BK9 - it may not look as cool or have the same sentimental value but from what I hear, it's a better performer.

sorry to hear about your loss brother, weve been getting pounded pretty hard here lately havent we?the bk1 is gonna be hard to come by for a decent price.you can pick up a bk2 or bk9 to hold you over till you find one though.

you'd have thought the tornado would have been cut up bad by the Brute :) that bites. hopefully some of that stuff turns up though. stuck in the neighbors tree, or dog, or cow, or wicked witch...

there was a strong traditional answer for why certain models were not being made, but times are a changing... so, there are OTHER options :) like the Force. there's a dark side ;)

so, well. i'd just keep an eye out.

in the meantime, the BK9 won't set you back far, and the KaBar cutlas machete is very nice (and huge too), and costs even less iirc.

As far as price goes. I just did get one in the last week and I definitely did pay collector value. I think their probably out there for less but it may take awhile. Get a nine for now and post up in the exchange that your wanting one. You never know what might come up.

My deal was a BK 10 and a Bk1 for $300. package deal you know.

Hey Brudda,

I can't help with a 1, but if you're in the Northern part of the state, I may be able to help in other ways. I'm in Madison. Been diggin' Anderson Hills out of deep piles since early last week. Email me if you can use a trailer or just a hand loadin' stuff up for the dump. Been known to swing a pretty mean hammer too if you're anywhere near that stage. My email can be had by clicking on my user name.

If you're down South, sorry, can't help, but best of luck and prayers to you and yours.

My heart goes out to you, mon ami. Ya'll got it rough, for sure. Rest assured and save those pennies, the BK1 is now back on the menu, or will be shortly.

have you seen it stud? Is it off of the same template?

I haven't seen it yet, but from talking with E about it, on several occasions, it will be the Brute, but with some tweaks to the design to make it better, but not so much that anyone will notice from the look, but they will from the function.

my understanding is that simple folk used the wrong edge of the brute, and declared it a non-winner. so KaBar, being smart, is going to put the edge on that side :)

that's just good horse sense... it will also come with some safety arrows, and instructions :>

Yeah that makes sense, the geometry has to be right for the type of blade and thickness and all that. Sounds like a lot of book learnin and science and whatnot.

Huh - brute is coming back? Not to derail but with all of the 'no never no-way' answers to the previous pleas to bring back the brute, what happened?
