Becker bk11 scales "handle" wanted

Hey guys, I'm new to this site and I was wondering if anyone on here makes and sells scales "handle" for the K-Bar Becker BK11
 
you looking for micarta or otherwise? there lots of micarta for sale around the web, if your looking for something custom made check the "services requested" section of the exchange. I recommend the member sh@rp he does some wicked stuff. Welcome and Good Luck
 
Looking for some basic scales micarta or ? I seen a set of orange scales that looked pretty sweet but I don't know what material the were made of. I checked out out services requested but I did not see what I'm looking for
 
you gotta post and ask. if your looking for micarta they are available everywhere. since i can only tell you places that support bladeforums start by googling chestnut ridge knife shop
 
Welcome Buckguy, glad you're here.

Kabar makes a set of Micarta handles for the BK11, plus, there are some others here tha makes custom stuff, Sh@rp, MarathonMan, just hit the search here in the BKT forum, and you should be in business.

Stick around a while, we got alot of stuff here to see and do.

A KA-BAR fellow hinted that a new type of handle for the BK14 is under consideration (click here to see his post). A "SLA prototype" would indicate the production model will be black grivory plastic like what comes with the big Beckers.

Now, they only mention the Bk14 in that thread but it seems to me that if KA-BAR is going to someday offer grivory handles for one of their Becker neck knives, that they'll offer the same handles for their other Becker neck knife as well.

I'm actually holding off on buying a BK11, which I want bad, until there's more information about this!

sorry guy, but to be polite, "you crazy"...

the BK11 has had micarta handles for some time. establish standard. there's little point in making grivory for them

ANY handles for the BK13 would be nice, but well, don't count on it. not from KaBar. not for years. just saying.

as for the BK14, well, sure, they have prototypes. could be months or years on getting to market. you may well see tweeners for sale before then.

heck, they have fully programmed CNC for the Becker handles to be made in any material they choose, in any color, but for various reasons (they're BUSY mostly, i would say, and don't have TIME), it's not happened in two years.

it's just the way things roll, and they aren't going to explain their business plan to me, or anybody. dammit :)

in the meantime, there's aftermarket goodness.

so, buy your BK13. buy handles that exist now. or wrap. or don't. waiting? eh, don't see it being prudent :>
 
Thanks, that's very helpful. I kinda took from Tooj's post, despite the actual words heh, that this was coming in some sort of reasonable timeframe.
 
depends on what you want... you can google and find many who sell micarta for the 11, or you can go custom with many options.. i have many exotic wood to choose from, and or not limited to g10,micarta etc.......

depends on how you define reasonable :) they're a relatively small shoppe actually, with a huge inventory, and as much as it's annoying, that's a stark reality to their business model "when we get to it" :)

while they (and Ethan) and by extension me, er, us are delighted at the popularity of Becker products (and esp the profit for them and Ethan), well, they do have dozens of other lines to work with. sometimes *gasp* they have to pay attention to these whiney types (Hi Steve!) who have their own goals.

so... you'll know when they know, which is quite possibly before Ethan or I or even the all knowing moose, or the pimp biscuit knows.

i know, right?

heck, the whole BK-10 thing happened today. bam. shock.
