Hello all,
Long time reader and now my first post here on the community

Ik make knives from scrats for a hobby I also do buy blades and make them to a nice knife
and I do makeovers of cheap kitchen knifes.

My latest mod was on a Becker BK15 i did a patina with mustard and water and bubblewrap plastic.
and some wooden scales (white ash burl).
All it needs now is a new sheath...

see here a youtube photo collage how i did it and some knives on my channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kjvm3qpxE2s&list=PLArxDUMbkSJrb4aF5hSpOg_m2hOn1nNkx&index=9

My photo album of knifemaking is http://mayo-knifemaking.mijnalbums.nl/

regards,
Mayo

You did a great job on those scales. Nice wood selection and I really like that patina. I agree. Epic first post. Welcome to the forums. Can't wait to see what you do next...

beautiful work there, you going to make the sheath too? Your knife would look really nice in a leather sheath IMO..

Beautiful job! BK15 is arguably my favorite Becker (along with the BK4.... and the BK2.... and the BK9..... and..... lol)

Excellent work and welcome to the Becker forums!

Your pics are very informative. I liked your bubble-wrap method of applying the mustard for the patina! I used to airbrush remote-control car bodies as a hobby and would sometimes get a granite effect in the paint by dabbing it on with a plastic bag. The effect is very similar to the patina you go and I'm thinking that's what I'm going to use on the next one I do.
