Hi,
Thinking about increasing the width of the handle a little by adding some liners to the handles... however, I noticed that the sheath, under the 2 bolts is riveted together. Anyone got any ideas as to how to increase the handle retaining 'clips' on the sheath without completely destroying the standard sheath?
Thanks a lot.
Joe

PS. It would be a shame to have to get an extra sheath for a simple mod to the knife handle.

I purchased some Tommy the Who scales a while back.
They were a little wider than the stock ones, and I was faced with having to modify the sheath to accommodate them. As was just suggested, I used heat.
I heated the lip of the sheath with a hair dryer until it got hot to the touch and forced the knife into it with the new scales. Once cool, I took the knife out and it was a nice fit after that.
The next problem was that the retaining strap would not go around the handle and snap easily, so I carefully stretched it and barely got it to snap shut. I left it snapped with the knife in the sheath for close to a week and now it works fine.
