What lanyard styles do you guys like to put on your BK2s? I simply use bit of paracord with the ends tied together in a overhand knot, run the loop through the lanyard hole, put the knot through the loop, pull it tight, and stick my wrist through. I will get a picture of my BK2 up sometime and show the lanyard also. It's definitely not anything fancy but it does the job. Anyway, what do you guys use?

That's what kind I like too. Don't like mine too big or complicated. I need to be better about using a lanyard but I'm lazy.

The last one I put on I grabbed my BK9 to chop something and didn't put the lanyard on my hand, it swung under the blade and chopped it in half...The a few weeks later im out with my family fishing and my daughters ask me to make them bows. I'm chopping the sticks they chose down to size and it slips out of my hand and falls in the lake. I had to go in after it.

I use log chain. Keeps it secure and gives the 2 a nice balance.

you mere mortals may want to use 550 tho

What lanyard for a BK-2? Let's see. Oh! I don't own a Becker BK-2. So no lanyard whatsoever. :D

I just use a length of 550, with a cord lock on it.

I actually don't have a lanyard on my BK2 right now... but I usually use dual diamond knots.

Here's an example on my ESEE 6

I used to have my lanyard attached permentetly to the knife. This worked fine for a while, but tended to get in the way from time to time.
Since then I have removed the lanyard and put one together that can be hung off my pack when not in use, then tied onto which ever knife or tool I feel I may need.
I'll post some pics when I get home tonight to show what I mean.

The jury is still out with me. I know some guys that put lanyards on every knife they have, but I only have them on my machetes and bigger knives that I may chop with. It is a bit of insurance to have the knife attached to your wrist while chopping, but frankly, sometimes the lanyards just get in the way. I guess if you were working around water or a similar situation they would be a good thing. I guess its just a matter of preference or your working situation, IMO. Here are some pics of My 2 with the lanyard that I use. I got the idea from You Tube, the video says it a Chris Reeve lanyard. I liked it, easy to tie and will adjust bigger and smaller without having to use clips, etc. I will include the link too.

I hope you guys don't mind me jumping into things like this.

I don't have a BK2 but I did put this lanyard on my BK9.

I just use a length of cord tied off to make a loop. I hook my thumb in the loop and run it over the back of my hand and it helps a lot for holding the knife.
