Becker BK2 versus BK10

I have a Becker BK7 which I really like. I keep it in the kitchen to use it for a bunch of chopping and dicing duties.

Given the status of Camillus I was thinking of getting another one, maybe shorter.

The BK2 and BK10 seem pretty similar, with the latter about $10 less according to a quick web search. How would you decide which one to get? How much of the price is due to a nicer sheath?

THANKS.

I have the BK 10 Crewman, and I've very happy with it. I took it on a weeklong survival trek with Earthwalk Northwest and not only did it perform well, it got borrowed a lot.

I chopped willows with one swipe, peeled bark, made a throwing stick and an atl atl and it was great and held an edge prettty well.

I'm afraid I have no experience with the BK 2, as I feel it would be a more expensive redundancy.

I have the BK-2 and have used it a lot to split kindling with a baton. It's much thicker than the BK-10, which, I believe, is about the same thickness as your BK-7. Unless severely reprofiled it isn't much of a slicer, so it isn't as versatile. Because of its thickness, it's pretty indestructable unless you nuke it or drop it into a volcano.
