Well I bought it, I was too excited about it to pay much attention to any flaws it could have... While I understand that it's a tool, it doesn't have much for an edge- It can barely tear paper :/ This wont be much of an issue with my stones though.

Something that caught my attention what I did buy it though, was that it seemed to have something like a bottle opening notch at the end. I've seen plenty pictures of this knife and never saw it. Looks pretty clever to me.

However, that notch made me miss that the strap cutter was improperly ground, and does not come to an edge on the one side. I'm not sure if it was never ground properly, or if the edge has already chipped.

Regardless of flaws, the damn thing is a freaking bladed crowbar with a bottle opener.

Also, is there any way to know if I got the sheath with a lower glass content?

Ok, your pics suck. :D Thought you should know. :D:D:

Second, the bottle opener is a side effect of the cutting process, but it works well.

Third, that's not a strap cutter, its a hook designed to capture paracord and various other things of that nature.

The edge was used to be more crush, kill, destroy. Actual cutting falls to the serrations.

Is the pommel on the BK-3 new? The stock picture on Tomar's does not have the pommel. I made a comment this weekend about the 3 needing one.

Yea... my photos suck big time... I wish I had a better camera but I keep spending my money on knives. That video is what made me buy the knife btw. I guess I wont be needing to sharpen it.... I might for fun it temptation gets me though.

Yeah, all Bk3's made after Jan 1 2012 has the pommel extension.

Oh, sharpen the hell out of it, you'll find the edge is around 60 degrees inclusive. It will take a mean edge, but it has a slightly lower RC, and if you start bashing metal on metal, its gonna give if you thin it out.

Someone way back decided they wanted their BK3 to be their woods knife, so they made some changes to the edge and allegedly it know works fantastically well as a knife. Basically, where you have the chisel grind coming to the edge, on the other side they convexed it. Allegedly this made it one heck of a chopper/cutting tool, but having not done so myself I cannot say whether or not it was 100% accurate.

Picked up this Camillus BK-3 from our boy Greybush.
I'm loving it so far. Haven't got to put it through the paces yet.
It feels like it's ready to do work. Hefty, but well balanced.
I'll make a permanent home in my 4Runner for it.
I'll try and get a thorough review done once I get some good use out of her.

Hey Derek, if you happen to remember anymore, can you please let me know? Thanks.
