Hey folks,

I think my next Becker will be the BK3 as part of my gears for LUSAR. I would like to hear user opinions and see photos of it if you care to share. Thanks and cheers!

Yeah, Jarod's answer is way more fun. And for that, you need the BK3 to help get the kegs. We must go to where they house them, and take them. BK3 is essential for that. Just look at the amazon.com review!

bullosa,

Here is some interesting info:
The BK-3 was designed by John Benner 30 plus years ago. He gave the design to Ethan. John was the Cincinnati PD SWAT leader and Ethan was living in Cincinnati starting BK & T. They were and still are good friends. (although the insults make it hard to tell)
Fast forward: John is retired and owns TDI (Tactical Defense Institute). Both TDI and Becker Knife and Tool are under the KA-BAR family roof. Small world.
The BK-3 was designed as a lightweight, personal carry, entry tool for SWAT, Fire and Military use. It takes a tremendous amount of abuse. See Moose's video on the Marysville's FD dismanteling a Dodge Omni with a BK-3.
I'm biased but I think you will do fine with the BK-3.
Hope this helps.

Toooj mention "entry tool" so now I see the animal rug connection. Always wondered about the BK3. Thanks Toooj and Jarod for clearing up the mystery.

Thanks Paul for the reply. BK3 will be one of my recommended gear in our training and outfitting.

Cheers!

Its an interesting piece of gear, thats for sure. Not really the best tool for any job but I haven't found anything it can't do. Everything I made for the July challenge was done using the bk3.

And for the pic.
