It really does does do a great a great job of filling that role the classic KA-BAR was designed for.
Ups the ante especially on the utility role.

With a Kydex sheath I've found it fits the role of a knife to throw in the backpack when you just want to be prepared for a wide range of knife tasks.
Not every outing requires a machete, and the BK7 can handle much of what you run into.

Got it out today for some head-to-head chopping action with the ESEE 5:
