I have a Camillus/Becker BK7, and I've used it since 2005. Stripped the finish off the blade with paint remover (left the powder coat on under the scales) and put a SAK Huntsman in the sheath pocket. I've used it for everything a hard use knife could be used for, and more. I've even used the lanyard hole in the butt to pull up tent stakes.
Mine is made of the old Carbon V steel, that Camillus used for several lines of knives they manufactured for Cold Steel. I've heard - hearsay, I haven't confirmed - that Ethan (Becker) said that the 1095 & heat treat Kabar uses makes for a slightly tougher knife this time around. If the Kabar BK7's are tougher than my old Camillus BK7, then they are indeed TOUGH.
The only thing I'd change is to switch out the scale screws with slotted stainless steel screws, so you can remove them. (My SAK screwdriver works perfectly for this.) I carry a dozen waterproofed matches in my BK7's scales.
