I will be getting my TGLB in the next month or so (hopefully) and i'll be doing a side by side comparison of these two knives, but i'm wondering if anyone already has both and what their impressions of them are

I LOVE my BK7 but the INFI in the TGLB should give it a substantial edge... I'd like to see some if anyone has used both

I'd like to know too. I'm gonna be purchasing a TGLB very soon myself and I've also been wanting to pick up BK7 so it would be nice to see how the two compare.

i have a feeling that the BK7 will find itself abused to a MUCH higher degree now once my TGLB gets here. It will probably become my go to beater blade, and will get the everloving crap beat out of it

absolutely everything. :)

Side by side pics would be great. Handling characteristics of each. Comparative weight and balance, and Chopping abilities... my imagination is limited, but anything else you can come up with would be great

This picture was taken a while back. The BK7 has been stripped and is awaiting some more sanding and the handles. The TG is about twice as thick as the 7, weighs a good bit more. Haven't chopped anything with the TG yet, but since I put a new edge on the 7, it slices and chops pretty well.

The handle on the TG is more comfortable, but that might be due to the material canvas Micarta has a warmer feeling than Grivory. The ergos are both solid, but the 7 has an advantage in slicing and even stabbing.

Very nice pic sir. That's exactly what i was hoping to see... one more question

you are heading to the woods for a month... between the two, which would you rather have with you? do you think there's enough difference between them than one would actually be better long term than the other?

I would take the 7. Why? it's proven that it can chop, very well. The steel holds a really good edge, and it slices if that is necessary. The TG is fantastic, but I would rather have something a bit more versatile.
