Sounds about right. I say go for it, they aren't making anymore of em. Which one is it? THe Camillus or the Kabar version?

Its the Ka-Bar version, new in the box. I hate to pay that much but damn I want one.

Wish I wouldnt have spent all my damn money this month buying everything Jeff is selling over at ESEE. Got the complete line though  Might actually have to wait a week or two for the BK77 before the ol lady kicks me out the house ;).

In my opinion the Ka Bar version is much nicer. More polished and better micarta. If the one your looking at is a factory second, those sold for $200 at the end in april. If it's not a "blem" then $300 is a fair price. My blem had a smashed box and that was the only problem it had. My second blem has some definite flaws to the metal but still a beautiful knife and i've been using that one.

$200? thought it was $150.

still, whoever is selling it shouldn't deserve it and the flipping and cost mongering.

me? i paid $100 for one :)

imho, they're just not quite WORTH the price. unless you want one. or say, work in salt water all day cutting fish.

$208 shipped from Ka Bar last april. And they do rust in salt water, no pitting but yes surface rust. Fresh water nothing so far. Apparently blood will stain the S30V but I haven't tested that yet.

timing. first, get a time machine. then show up 10ish years ago :> then get there before i did :>

now? well, they're extinct. really extinct. KaBar did us a special, and gone. HUGE amount of bizness there. like wow.

the BK10 special was pretty good, but didn't move quite as fast. we're talking days on those BK77s. people wanted that bad. even never before seen people to the forum. someone leaked it, and bammmmmf.

buy some Beckers. keep them say 10 years. see what they're worth :)

Bummer it took so long, hope Ka Bar doesn't take that as a lack of demand and decide not to release a production version. Though I wouldn't be in the market for one in the forseeable future.

well, in theory they had 180 blanks, some were "burned", lost, folded, spindled, mutilated... leaving maybe 160? maybe less... for the wild.

so, subtract the 65 or so BHers that bought one, we're down to less than 95 left, and well, dribs and drabs...

some people think $150 is too much. bargain i think.

most people would be happy at $70 for a production model with grivory and no frills though. those'll sell. oh yeah.

If Bladite adds 2 more lines to his post, he'll have received it for free, 3 lines and they will have paid him to take one with a bonus $50!

I asked the question was it really worth the price that KA-BAR was selling it for, conversation started and a few days later they were all gone. I think Zaleski ended up buying 3. To this day the BK-77 is my favorite knife.

well, goto the trade forums, find someone who has a user, and trade away.

make it a game. be patient :> you PROBABLY don't NEED it, so wait a bit...

otherwise, just pay case. there's no apparent shortage of people flipping them.
