Well there has been much recent discussion about the chopping ability of the BK9 so I thought I would try mine out. I have done lots of batoning with this knife but not much chopping. Well I walked down to the edge of my place and found a nice tree to try it on. This is the stump of my tree after 40 chops with the BK9

A few more minutes of chopping and I had it in some decent size chunks.

Now I just need to get the remora out to finish it off.

PS Its very windy here today.

i'd just use the remora to baton through that stuff :)

indeed. i once saw riz_aaroni take down a tough as heck dead-standing ironwood with just a remora...and it was still shaving sharp afterwards :D
