Im in the process now of removing the coating from my BK9. im using this Paint and Epoxy romover product here which is called 2 minute remover. Its taking much longer than I had been hearing it would take with a different product called Jasco that I was unable to get my hands on at the hardware store becuase of what the clerk called a restricted status. Will the 2 minute remover work with time or should I just eject and start over once I can find a better product? Thanks

The first few times I did a few knives, I used the aerosol Jasco. (*great stuff) The next coupla' times I used a product called "Klean Strip" (*also an aerosol) because I couldn't find the Jasco. There was nothing wrong with the Klean Strip, it was just that the Jasco was superior. (*I had to leave the Klean Strip on for longer and do it twice)

Just from my very humble experience, if you left the stuff on for anything less than 20-30 minutes, that was probably way insufficient. Heck, the Klean Strip recommends at least 45 minutes for anything oil based. Not only that, but I reckon a well-beaten blade is much easier to strip than a virgin blade.

I would read the instructions/recommendations carefully, and see what the Manufacturer recommends. If there aren't any specific warnings about time limits, I would just try what you already have in your possession, just for a longer amount of time. If that doesn't work, then you can go looking for something different.

Just my $0.02. Your mileage my vary.
