Just havin a little fun(NO! ALOT of fun) with the BK9...awesome knife! The grivory one has been used hard and the coating has held up very nicely, still looks new and is VERY SHARP! I love the handles that come with the knife but I wanted to cordwrap one, just because...:)

I've cord wrapped a few knives before but none this big. I have a BK-9 but can't imagine it being comfortable to chop with w/ a cord wrapped handle., could be wrong though. Did you break the original scales or something?

How did you get that wrap pattern? Is there a youtube reference vid you can point me to?

The cordwrap was for fun (looks cool) but not for use because I have two, one to use, one for backup. I wouln't try using a large chopper with a cordwrapped handle because of shock but I do like the grip it gives on smaller knives. It took four yards of cord.

good job solidknife i also like the knife but i need to put some griptape in additition to my lanyard. being an older guy my grip is'nt as strong as it used to be.
