Becker BK9 Ever Again?

With all the Camillus troubles and the Becker contract issues
do you think any more Beckers will come out of Camillus?

Will the dealers get one more "last hurrah" of deliveries?

Yes, I should have bought a BK9 months ago - kicking myself now. :grumpy:
 
I just ordered a BK7 Saturday and found many online stores had stock on BK9's also.
 
I called many in the last 2 weeks and they were actually out of stock. Their websites listed as in stock but they were actually out. "No more until late Dec. early Jan." they said. Guyon on this board was nice enough to sell me one of his extras. Thanx Guyon!
 
That is the problem I have been seeing. Vendor's websites show x amount
in stock but if you call them they say backordered.

Including one less than ethical ebay seller who has been advertising
a "buy it now" BK9. When I pinned them down they admitted they
are waiting on some to come in.
 
Also it was posted there was a court order stopping Camillus from making any more Beckers. At this point in time, who knows what's going on?

I hear you. I only clued into these heavy duty beauties a few months ago. I bought the last Becker Brute from my regional source, KnifeZone, here in Saskatchewan Canada. I called last week about a BK9 and was told that they don't even have any in their warehouse. They are waiting for new stock also. From what I see/hear, these Beckers are definately in demand and will sell if manufactured. I'm crossing my fingers as I want several different models myself.
 
My BK7 just came in the mail! Sweet! Hair shavin' right out of the box.

My Beckers. I have a BK6, 11 and another BK1 ordered, but, who knows when.

Sorry but.......I'm 99% sure Camillus will not be making any more BK9's. They were made using Cold Steel's grinding machines and they aren't in the building anymore.

Yeah, the 7 is a great knife.

A remarkable thing is that the BK9, big as it is, also shaved hair right out of the box!

That pretty much seals the deal. I can only guess where the grinders went, to China :mad:
 
RUMOR RUMOR
In a telephone conversation last Monday (Dec. 11) I was told that now the strike is "over", Camillus is in negioations and talks with many of their old clients. I was also told they hold all of the existing supplies of 0176-6c (Carbon V, etc) steel. There are so many pieces of this problem that I do not think anyone actually knows what will come out in the spring. Their service department also told me they would be filling back orders on beckers in January (or February, I can not remember which). I am just very happy I got a BK7, BK2, and BK9HH in the last two months. I just ordered micarta handles for all three.

Nice pic! Two Magnum Camps and five Combat Bowies! Someone had better stop this man before he corners the market!
 
Look whos talking..... The man that when Camillus runs short, they borrow knives from him to fill their orders..................
