Becker BK9 or Ranger RD9?

I am looking to fill the large (9"), hard use camp knife gap in my collection. I am looking to spend under $100, and find these two highly recommended and only about $20 difference between the two.

I don't care about the sheath or the handle material. I know that the Ranger has a G10 handle vs. the Grivory handles on the Becker. I'd change them to micarta at some point down the road anyway.

I am really more concerned about the balance for chopping, handle comfort (shape/thickness), as well as the strength of the blade (not necessarily thickness) for hard use.

I'm sure they are both great, but I would like to get your opinions on which one you would recommend since I can only get one of them. Thanks in advance!!

Just got a BK-9 for Christmas and took it hunting today. Love it to death. I'm sure the RD9 is good stuff, but I suddenly can't believe it took me this long to get the BK-9. Get one - you'll be glad you did.

What is hard use to you? I have no qualms about chopping & batoning with the BK-9 - I can't see it breaking with normal knife hard use. Just don't pry with any knife and you shouldn't have any problems.

I've chopped with my BK-9 and found it to be very competent.
