Does this have the BK9HH stamped on it? I just found another one for $59 on Ebay, with shipping, so I ordered it, and want to make sure that what I get, is what I ordered, not something sharpened to look like it.
Since most of the standard BK9s cost more than this, I figured it was a good buy.

I have a bk9 (hh) the hh is not stamped on the blade. It stands for hog hunter and the only difference is that the top of the blade is sharpened. There is one left on ebay I bought the last one on ebay.

Is there one left on eBay? Or did you buy the last one on eBay? :D

Are there any advantages to the sharpened swedge?

I was thinking of ordering one from Tom, but I already have two BK-9's and wonder if I really need an HH version. I don't hog hunt (at least I've never hunted hogs before), and I imagine that, if I did kill a hog, I would use a different knife for field dressing.

The Hog Hunter knife ,is not for field dressing , it is for killing the hog which is being held by catch dogs! Hog hunting with knives is a big sport in the south & A few other places. Find a copy of Hog Hunter magazine & check it out!

l just scored a BK9-HH off ebay and didnt intend to.

l bought a BK9, or at least they said it was a BK9 on their listing for about $50. lt arrived 3 days later (today!) and when l opened the package, l saw BK9HH on the BK&T box.

Sure enough, that's what l got.:D

The grind lines are superb and both edges shaving sharp out of the box. l love the balance and heft.

This is my 4th BK&T. l began with the Magnum Camp about 5 years ago then got the Patrol Machete.

Earlier this year l bought a Combat-Utility. lt's a great knife and very handy, but it has some of the sloppiest grind lines l've ever seen.

l'm happy my BK9-HH was much better made.

there are still a few bk9hh's on ebay through chestnut ridge knife shop and they are exellent quality and he ships fast. I just recieved mine and I love it. there is also a few bk1's on ebay right now.

Yep.

That's who l bought this BK9-HH from.

Same thing happened to me. I ordered a BK-9 from Chestnut Ridge but got a BK-9HH. No complaints about the knife though. Grinds are perfect.

Hi guys, to those who ordered a BK9 and got a BK9HH I apologize. I am out of the BK9's and my help didn't realize that there is a difference. They were listed and packed up (this slipped past me). It sounds like all you folks are ok with this, thanks! I will say that the grind quality on the remaining knives I have are just as nice.

The slip-up did put me into a bit of a scramble to find another standard BK-9, since I wanted to wind up with 2 standard models and 1 HH model. Spent about an hour sifting through a number of vendors and calling most of them; all were sold out. However, the search ended well (I think). I picked up one here on the forums at a good price, and as long as the seller comes through as promised, I'll be happy.

All that aside, I will say publicly that Tom is a good guy to deal with. He stays on top of communication, and he ships like the wind. If there's a concern, he'll make it right.

Apologize?

Man, getting a BK9-HH was a VERY pleasant surprise! :D

l'll be on your ebay listings tonight looking for a BK Combat Utility since you say your remaining knives have good grind lines. The one l have has some sloppy grinds (only a cosmetic issue) and l think l'll just keep my old one under the dash of my truck.

Your welcome, I just received good news. I am getting my order of BK7's in they should be here tomorrow. I cant wait to look at the grinds. If they are anything like the BK2's that I just received I will be one happy camper. I did hear some news about a couple of sharpening errors a while back. But I can say that all of the knives that I have received (with the exception of 1 BK11) have been acceptable, and most I would consider exceptional. I did have the name of the person that sharpend the last order of BK2's that I received, he realy took some time on those blades. Nice job! As for that BK11, I will do a little work on it and sell it with a note that I did touch-up the blade. All of the other BK11's are high quality. The BK9HH are running low!

The last becker I purchased (not from crks what a big mistake) was messed up from one end to the other it is one of the newer ones and the newer sheaths are not near as good. Lots of changes and a whole lot poorer quality.

Give me some details, what knife was it? and what was the problem?

I dont know if Camillus released any seconds, but that may be somthing to look into. Contact the seller and ask him. If I can help let me know. I have a good contact at Camillus. I know they want to keep their reputation high.

I have already reground everything and it will be my hard use bk7 I have several other bk7's so its not a prob . I was just warning everyone. The 4 bk9hh's I got from you were outstanding to say the least part. What worries me is if the rest of the these "secretary" made knives are going to be the same way. I will post a thread on all the defects later on. Thanks for the offer though.

Yes indeedy. The BK9HH l received from CRKS has outstanding grinds.

More BK7's coming in tomorrow?

l can't wait!

The dealer l bought mine off of on ebay sent me an email back saying he didnt have it in stock (even though he listed 10 of them???) and sent me a full refund.

l think that refund will go to a BK7 from CRKS then.
