Becker Blasphemy? *Stripper pics added PIC HEAVY*

So for my first thread here, I asked a ridiculous question about modding my BK3 without experience. Since then, I have beaten it to hell and back, babied it, stripped it, forced a patina and sharpened it to a reasonable edge. Not bad right?
Well, I'm sending the ol' girl to be convexed and I'm not sure whether I will love her the same way or not. Will I have ruined a good thing and committed Becker Blasphemy?

She's the only one I have (until I get a 7:D:D).

Any comments? Concerns? Lectures?
I regret not taking pics of it before I sent her off though, that patina was sweet....

Thanks for reading and thinning out my wallet

So here are a few pics of when I stripped her down, I am still waiting for her to come back from her re-grind:
(sorry for the huge pics and poor quality)

I wrapped the handle with electrical tape as I could keep the coating safe and added the stripper (I didn't take pics of the process so use those Imaginations of yours. 30min give or take on each side and the coating came off without a fuss)

We need pic's stud. It's like food to us. gotta have them.

Just read the whole post, no pic's, got it. Well we'll need bikini pics of your girlfriend or wife when you get it back. That'll make up for the lack of pic's now.

I'll promise to post pics when it's back. A post ain't nothin' without 'em. And uh, ill be sleeping on the curb for that :D
Ill find the stripper pics for ya ;)

No pics,
Does he really even have a becker.:D
Yes he does.

This may be the first time I've seen a stripped 3. Looks nice.

Heck, I think this is the first time a stripped 3 has been shown on here, so first for most if not all of us. Looks really good. REALLY good. I would strip mine, but it ain't a user anymore, so I won't. Might have to get a new one at some point though, that looks too good to not have.

Uhm, no offense but what is the use of having a half convex edge? I would have thought the chisel would have been fine, what with its ability to field dress a car.

None taken

I use it as a woods knife primarily (yes I realize a 9 would have been better) and its the best dang wood splitter I have and a decent chopper. For my uses, it suits me fairly well, I just wanted a sharper edge and the ability to make it 'mine'. Richard j was telling me about his convex/chisel chopper on the phone and I decided, why not convex my BK3??
Trust me, I get alot of criticism for this already :p
I wouldn't be doing it if I was taking Dodge Omni's apart

I'd say the only blasphemous thing one could do to a Becker is to leave it in the safe. They are kind of like Vikings in that regard; they'd prefer to go out of this world hacking stuff to pieces :D

I don't understand how a convex edge on a chisel grind will work, but I don't have any doubts it'll chop like there is no tomorrow. Plus, It looks amazing stripped.

all the more fuel for me to strip my new ck9 tomorrow, yo! that plain blade looks great.

Well, due to some complications boys, a slight convex grind will be put on the flat half of the blade.
With use and sharpening, it will eventually go away. No worries though, I just can't wait to see her all pretty and finished.
(non-Becker blurb: I am also getting my bushlore done too!!:thumbup:)
