Hi guys, sorry to hear about Camillus. It just so happens that I was introduced and fell in love with the Becker Brute AFTER I heard the news of Camillus closing down :(

Do you guys know of an alternative to the Becker Brute from another manufacturer in regards to both design and quality?

i am in the same boat, did some searching decided i really wanted a becker brute and then find out they are out of business....alternatives anyone?

i was thinking of a martindale golok instead (yeah not a direct replacement i know). part of what drew me to the becker was the low price, im not looking for anything over $100

I would highly recomend checking out Ranger Knives. Their RD9 is the same size as the Becker Brute and costs about the same. I do not own a Becker Brute, but I own many Ranger knives and their quality is unreal for their price.

Do you have a link to a website?

scrapyard knives dogfather should nicely fit the bill - $140 list, though people are selling them for a premium second hand. no sheath included.

perhaps a good HI khukri :) a 16-18 inch GRS would do fine. 5160 differential heat treat :) $90-130

maybe ... ontario rtak (I or II)

or keeping hunting for a user brute. they pop up for $50ish and go fast.

honestly i don't know why they are selling out so fast ;)

My lips are sealed.

I'm waiting for the 90-day eBay period to end, and then I'm sending THEM a little love note.

I don't know if these Linders are all that and a bag of chips, but I just ordered one. Solingen steel and a convex edge. Sounds good on paper.

I do like the Martindale Golok No. 2 BTW. Great little chopper.

check out a Kershaw Outcast. Very similar to the Becker Brute

How have I missed that big honker? It looks really nice for the price. Curious about heat treat and performance...

Or better, a RD9 with a custom recurve like Tedwca's:

As for people saying the Kershaw Outcast, I recently wanted to get one and did alot of research and overall poeple do not approve of it. I guess the D2 steal just doesnt fit the job of the knife. The best knife suggestion I have seen in here is a Ranger, I would def say they are comparable to the Brute. I wouldnt see why the Brute would go out of production. It is probably the best all terrain "chopper" kinfe out there for quality vs. price. You can still buy a Becker Brute, message me for the link so not just anyone looks and get the link
