Becker Brute goo

Just bought the Becker Brute... the Camillus brochure says to clean the blade w/ "oil." The knife has some sort of goo on the blade that looks like it will stop seawater, so shouldn't I put more goo on it for maintenance, not just "oil"?

Also, what kind of "oil" should I use, just in case? A newbie qstn, I'm sure, but it's the truth.

Both of my Becker's came with the protectant on the blades. I think this is just to avoid corrosion while they sit on the shelf prior to sale.
I use Sentry Solutions Tuf-Cloth to protect my blade (traded one of them). The coating holds up well, and I'm mainly concerned about the edge, and the places behind the edge where the coating is worn off, but I coat the entire blade.

It is available from most online dealers.
