Does anybody have experience with the camo version of the legendary Becker Combat Bowie? I'm particularly interested if there is a difference in the performance of the tan colored epoxy coated blade versus the black.

Also, is there a way to refinish the coating if you happen to scruff it up?

Finally, what is the best stone to keep this beauty sharp?

cheers

UPDATE: I went ahead and bought the BK-9-1. If anybody has any comparative experience(BK9 versus BK9-1), or ideas on how to touch up the coat and/or sharpen this great knife please don't hesitate to respond to this post.

I don't think that there is any good way to touch up the black coating, but it is fairly durable.

I have both the BK-1 and the BK-9, and I like the BK-9 alot better.

Glockman99,
Do you have any experience with the camo versions?

How do you sharpen, or keep sharp, your BK-9?

cheers

No, I don't have any experience with the camo versions (yet :D). I keep mine sharp with a Spyderco Sharpmaker 204. I also don't let 'em get too dull.

The camo version ROCKS. Its a nice change from the black theme, which is the dominant theme these days. Its hard to describe, but the pictures that are out on the net are adequate. Its always so much better in person.

I have to say, I have not noticed the weaknesses that others have talked about with the sheath, perhaps they changed quality control?

All I can say is THANK YOU ETHAN BECKER. This is a knife everyone should own.

cheers
