What is the true blade length of Becker Companion ?
Camillus site says 4-1/2", some other sites (agrussel.com)5-1/2".
If you look at the photo it is obvious that blade length is about 50% of overall length, which is 10-5/8"/2=5+".

From the tip to the closest part of the handle mine is about 5.125".

Thanks, Terr.
How do you feel about this knife ?
The handle is plastic, as I understand. Does it look cheap ?

The handle is made of GV6H, a thermoplastic "alloy" which contains about 60% fiberglass content. So, it is far from plastic! It is highly resistant to rough treatment, yet can be molded in any shape, with any contours as demonstrated by the trademark Becker handle design. Fits my hand perfectly.

my review

I'll just add it doesn't look or feel cheap but it isn't prit-ty either -- it's not a knife to display in a glass case; it's a knife to use hard without the slightest fear you could ever damage it, or even hurt its appearance.

Doesn't feel cheap or act cheap. They've got Knife & Tool in their name for a reason.

There is a mistake on our website regarding BK2 specifications. The correct blade lenght of the CAMPANION is 5.25", not 4.5". Sorry for the confusion, we will get it corrected ASAP.

The scales are made form GV6H, a Swiss "thermoplastic alloy". Also know under the name "GRIVORY". It is a 60% glass filled nylon, and it is EXTREMELY durable. They actually make nails from this material for use in highly corrosive environments. Zytel, which many here are familiar with, is a reinforced nylon, but only has approx. 12% glass content. GV6H is also more expensive, and ALOT more difficult to mold. It is very rough on the mold, and requires replacement of tooling earlier than if Zytel was being used. In the end, we think is is worth it.

We have yet to have a set of BK&T scales broken during actual usuage.

Thanks for the interest!
