I wrote about a month ago about the adventures of my Companion during a winter warfare exercise in the rockies. I had it out on another winter live fire exercise and gave it a good workout. I was opening ammuniton boxes, breaking seals and cutting the straps on ammunition tubes. It performed flawlessly. I also had to cut about 20 saplings to try to extract ourselves when my vehicle got stuck in deep snow. Like a hot knife through butter. What an outstanding knife. There was at least a dozen things I did that I would not have dared attempt with my bayonet or my normal jump knife. It is a hugely rugged and solid knife. I am sold on it. I attached a wrap of striped 550 on the handle and full 550 on the sheath for survival purposes. I also have a pouch attached with my gerber scout. It is very handy as it allows me to get to the gerber easily without having to lift up the layers or my winter camoflage. It a great knife that is reasonably price. Have a careful look at it if you in the market for a solid survival knife. I can not say more about the knife. Good luck.

Morpheus32,
Couldn't agree more! I've really found this knife useful on small game hunting trips. Just the ticket for extracting myself from pesky briars and thickets. Good bang for the buck.

I get some pleasure from finding a relentlessly peaceful use for a combative looking knife.

I really like mine, too. I wrapped about fifty feet of nylon twine (150 lbs) around the throat of the sheath. I had to heat the throat a little with a Bic lighter, to bend the Kydex out slightly, as the twine closed the top of the sheath just a bit, making extracting the knife a little too hard. I tied a "fob" of 550 cord (25 feet or so) to the bottom leg-tie holes, since I didn't use this feature on such a short knife. I then attached a Bianchi four pistol-mag pouch to the front of the sheath, for survival goodies. This way, I've got fire, snares, fishing gear, a way to sharpen my knife, LOTS of cordage, all in one package. I wear the knife on a one inch belt under my LBE belt, so that I always have my knife and kit with me. And it is a stout little blade, that chops all out of proportion to its size. Great knife, especially for the price.
