Hey beckerheads!

I'm customizing my newly-acquired BK14. I really like the ergonomics of this knife, and it's a tremendous value. That said, I'm adding scales and looking into a custom sheath. I've already ordered some TKC g10 scales that should be coming this Friday :D. What I'm really torn over is what kind of aftermarket sheath to purchase. The stock sheath is way too tight for my likes, and I really want to add another level of personalization onto this blade, as I will be using this knife on a 2 week wilderness canoe trip in Maine. I'm currently looking at an Azwelke Taco sheath, but a youtube review showed that the TKC BK14 sheath was way too tight and hard to pull out. The other option I am looking at is the Grizzly-outdoors Bk14 sheath. They're high quality, but since they're custom made, it would take 8 weeks to make, and I can't wait that long :D:D.
Dudes, what do you recommend to a first-time beckerer like me?

Check out Azwelke's website.
He sells a taco sheath for the BK14 with TCK scales.
His sheaths are top notch. And he's a Beckerhead!

Hey ExtraTang, I have a 24 with TKC scales and the Azwelke taco sheath and the sheath is very tight . I don't mind it the g10 scales are heavy so having the sheath on the tight side is a plus keeping the knife in the sheath . I'am sure you could contact Al and ask for a loser fit . Another option is 710 Sheaths he does very nice work also .

I think 710 is shut down at the moment while building/moving his shop. Azwelke is top notch, I have the BK9 but haven't tried the 14. Since Azwelke can make the sheath without having to send your Knife off, that's a big plus. Just make sure your trip isn't too soon because I believe they get back logged. Communication is the key so you should reach out before placing an order. They're great folks and highly recommended. No shortage of options to boot, you can get exactly what you want.
A hair dryer or heat gun us all you need to adjust the fit to your liking... It's not a big deal.

I have a taco sheath from Azwelke for my BK9, it's very well put together, everything is firm yet it releases the blade well when you want it to.
Disregard the ugly carpet. :)

Did you thought about making a kydex sheath yourself? It can’t get any more personalized. Sure its a learning curve but a small blade, like the BK14, is a good start to learn the basics. Materials and start-up tool’s are relative cheap too.
