I just wanted to say publicly that it's really good to see folks coming in here, making valuable posts, and getting the energy of this place up. There's lots of good stuff going on.

Bladite has put in an enormous amount of time on the FAQs and Becker Databases. Our Becker emails go back a ways, and I know he was onto some of those compilations much earlier than his stint here as moderator. The work is a labor of love, and it shows. Regarding the Beckerheads, Moose recently attributed a lot of richly deserved credit with dawsonbob and RABII for groundwork, but Moose himself ought to take a bow for a lot of legwork. Whether it's Moose magic or something else, it's surely working, and it's energizing this place in a positive fashion.

Contests and challenges, Beckerhead specials, forum specific gear... the appeal and swag keeps getting better and better. Of course, the blessings and presence of Ethan (the man himself) and Tooj here help people have a greater sense of connection to the Becker product. Just good going all around.

I'm happy to call this place one of my newest homes on the Interwebz, and I want to thank Moose for the personal invitation via PM a short while back. It's a good core group with enthusiasm for various projects and some beneficial sharing of information. Bladite and Moose help keep folks on an even keel without allowing the place to lose its sense of humor. As far as traffic goes, the Becker forum is rivaling the Busse forum now, and it won't be long, I think, before the Beckerheads are giving those other guys (ESEE, aka The Ethan Becker Experience) a run for their money.

Just wait till the Tweeners show up... :p

I completely agree 100.00001 % I have really noticed the amount of peeps in the Becker forum growing with great posts all around. I am learning more and more from you all the more I get on! Thanks for all of your time posting pics, vids, and instructions for various skills. And Moose... you're the glue man... you're the glue !!

yar. thanks man. FAQs gen 3 or so, a bit tighter, more information. good stuff. sometimes, it's even nice that someone zaps in there from their phone needing to know a bit of lore for shopping, be it at the hardware store, or a knife show, screws and specs. it's not complete, but it's a start.

it's a good crowd here. no pretentious steel or skills. just good folks doing good things and hurting wood :)

moose is doing a bang up job. hoping dawsonbob rallies up and can join us. need his input :)

might just have to get ANOTHER mod too, make it four with all these extra bodies coming in. my my and mercy :)

might just have to have BeckerForums.Com :)

Bladite, since we're on Becker lore a little bit, you might want to scoop up this factoid for the archive. Comes from some exchange with Phil Gibbs via PM today (he said I could quote him). I may do a thread on the serrated Beckers at some point since there's a good chance of military personnel coming in here and checking in. For some reason, I like the phrase "scalloped government." :p

Phil Gibbs said:
Camillus used the term Scalloped to define a Spyderco type serration rather than a steak knife (fine) type of serration.
The SG designation was Serrated (or Scalloped) Government as all the knives we sold the Military were of this type.

On a similar note: on my old crashed computer is my archive of the Camillus Becker web pages. I'm hoping I can recover, but I'm also assuming you snatched those pages, pics and all?

+1 on the dawsonbob sentiment. Anybody got news from the west coast about him?

scalped government :) the more lore the better. we can shove that in the FAQ somewhere. there's a whole history and bio section i'm waiting for Ethan to write ;)

yeah, i have some copies, and they're spread on a few backup HDs.

also, there's my photo archive, you should cull that at some point, or i can burn a dvd or something at some point.

I love this place and consider you all my BECKERHEAD brothers.....

I've only been here a while, and we have already been through so much together, I love you guys.....Know not really but the first part was true

Thanks Moose, Ethan, Guyon and Bladite
Even if Bladite is always trying to steal our BK knives, he is still cool in my book.

i thought i heard some kind of pass wind? through the knotty pines...

nah!

your BK knives? they're just on loan until they come home. to ME :)

Indeed thanks to everyone who made it possible to have a place like this.

Thanks guys, its alot of fun and its gonna get better, trust me, there are things in the works you guys haven't even heard about yet, and haven't been finalized. Big year coming up and we need more Beckerheads, more posts, and threads, as soon, our ideas and topics will be expanding. Hit the woods, we need to bring out the woodland skills in everyone, teach, train, support and invent new stuff.

And Flexxx, know problem, bud, glad to do it.

Moose

Thanks to all involved! Although I don't post much, this has become one of my favourite places on the internet, it's the only place I can my fix of big tough steel over here in Blighty (apart from my own collection of course). I'm slowly but surely working towards being a Beckerhead (some things need to be earned).

Cheers!

Moose and Bladite, you both need a pat on the back for the work you've put into this forum. Good job

I agree with all of the above. This group has come a long way in a relatively short time. I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of you at Blade this year and at any other function I can get to. I also mentioned to Moose that I am willing to help anyone do anything that furthers the Becker(head) cause. What a group; Ethan, Toooj (extremely nice guy at Blade last year), Bladite, Moose, Guyon, DB, and all the regulars around here. This is a good place to spend time and I sense it's only going to get better.

Before re-aquiring a BK10, I only really hung out in the W&SS forum. But now I divide my forum time between W&SS and here in Beckerland. The knives bring folks here but the people and camaraderie will make them want to stick around. I love seeing all the outdoor shots of you guys using your Beckers in the woods. My favorite part about the forums in general is seeing other parts of the US and other countries as well that I will probably never see with my own eyes. Keep it up guys!

And thanks to Tooj, Kabar, Ethan and everybody else who made this group possible! You get a pat on the back too :D
