Wikipedia defines a "fanboy" as "a person considered to belong to one or more fandoms to a point of obsession."
Every time I get another one of Uncle E's creations and get to use it for the first time, I am reminded why I am such a fan of these designs. A fan to the point that I rarely consider any other brand of fixed blade for purchase. Other brands end up in my cart on occasion, but, since the discovery of Becker Knife & Tool, I have not purchased any other brand of fixed blade.
Today, my wonderment lies in the brilliance of design of the BK4. I posted a thread recently requesting recommendations for the purchase of a 4, 9, or 16. The responses led me to the Machax, in spite of my skepticism. It's just a weird looking tool - how useful can it possibly be....
The answer is EXTREMELY USEFUL. I took the day off work to get some things done around the house. On the "to do" list was trimming back the bamboo a bit. Sure a saw would have been more useful - but not near as much fun! This blade was so easy to use and cut through the bamboo like butter. It made short work of this particular chore.

Am I a fanboy? I say no....I am a Beckerhead!
Have a good weekend, ladies & gentlemen. And thank you again, Mr. Becker, for designing such wonderful tools. I will try NOT to wait a year again before my next purchase.
