I went to a gun show today and I found this TacTool. It came with the Eagle sheath. First order of business was to sharpen the straight edge portion of the blade (even before cleaning it up).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is one from the Blackjack era.

Next thing on the to-do list is making a new set of micarta handles. These don't come close to fitting properly.

I'm not sure why the edge around the handle looks like the pic below, it isn't smooth all the way around. I'll fix that, too.

Looks like pitting to me. Lots of years since that one saw the grinder. And I think that's a rare military/government model but Bladite will be along shortly to correct it. If I were you I'd just oil it and put it away. Not many of those one around

Check the FAQs on the top of the page and select tactool for more info on the models from the blackjack era

those look like buffalo horn scales:eek: but I'd assume they are plastic??

dude great find, my eye is out every time I go to a gun show, I'm always looking for the independent seller that has a box of knives sitting on the floor, mishmash.......

'whats this?? oh I don't know, give me 10bucks for it'.......... :D

it's probably estaloc handles. ie: a solid polymer that personally hates Ethan :)

DB has infos.

i would avoid sharpening it. clean it, sure; they were bead blasted iirc, so take the handles off and run it through the dishwasher - it IS a dive too (div-tul) after all

that should've come with an Eagle Industries sheath. one of the best.

congrats!

IIRC, that's not a tactool, it's a Divtul, which is the stainless verion of the tactool, and are very rare. I would do nothing to it, and safe it away.

Thanks for all the info! I was pretty sure I'd found something, just didn't know how unusual it was. What surprised me, though, was the poor fit of the handles. Any chance thet might've come from a different model, or was the poor fit standard?

could be a rushed job on fitment back then...

estaloc has a tendency to creep a little, or shrink. could be a matter of time.

i've a couple of those, they are perfect though. luck of the draw i guess.

I didn't realize Beckers were made in Effingham Illinois. That's about 86 miles from me.

I can't remember if it was '97 or '98, I was driving toward St Louis, MO, and I saw a sign for a Blackjack store along the interstate (I-70, I think), and I think it was near Effingham. I had to drive many miles to turn around and head back to it. I went in but didn't buy anything. Bummer...
