this is another subject that I tried to search but failed.
does becker make folding knives? have they in the past?

Not that I am aware of, but I sure wish they did.

The wonderful Becker large size handle slabs with a big old hunk of 1095 CroVan and a kick ass lock would be the shitznitx!

Now, if the folders' blades would match the shape of the BK5/15, the BK9 (of course) and maybe the Sweet 16 - we'd have something to really holler about!

I think there a picture of a prototype floating around here somewhere.

There has also been some mockups of bk2 folders by some beckerheads

I think a folder that opened into a bk16 would make a great knife for a day pack.

Im still trying to find the thread, but I think in the end it was about dollars and cents and the final product was too expensive. Ethan wants all his blades made in the USA, and kabar has all the folders they make done over sea. So for a USA BK&T folder to happen the price would be super high.

The blade looks similar to the 3 sisters forge stuff to me. I think it would be the shiznit if they came out with a folder, but I think uncle E's forte is fixed blades.

Damn that folder looks amazing. The lock set up reminds me alot of the Hogue knives.

photo%20feb%2002,%203%2021%2054%20pm-u41339.pngI have seen a knife like that but I cant remember what it was. the finger groove kinda looks like a smith and sons

I think the cost was going to be astronomical to have made, iirc.

I guess cost is a major concern with a company like becker. they offer so much at such a low cost. we get spoiled. but we get to buy more. lol

Manufacturing a folder costs WAY more than a fixed blade. More parts, more tolerances to meet, more logistics to bring all those parts to one location where they are assembled.
