Okay - I'm close enough to 1000 posts, and about to take a hiatus from the forums, so it's time to get this started.
This one is open to numbered Beckerheads, and *sponsored entrants* only (details in post #2)
The prize will be your choice of a new BK 15 or BK 16. Non-US members that meet the above criteria are welcome to participate, as long as the prize can be shipped to your location. (If it gets hung up in customs, or otherwise disappears after it leaves the States, I'm not buying another one to try again)

To participate:
Post your Beckerhead number, and 2 different (NEW, not recycled) pictures showing your favorite BK(s) in use. By different, I mean different - not two very similar pictures.
*Sponsored entrants* may, if necessary (ie, you don't yet have a BK) post pictures of other knives in use.
Please put both pictures and your Beckerhead number in the same post - the pictures can, of course, be edited in later...our even changed prior to the closing.

Entries can be posted until Sat, May 2, at midnight (EST). Anything after that will simply be disregarded.
One entry per person, please. Anybody posting more than one entry, or an incomplete entry, will be disqualified.
The winner will be announced within a week of the deadline. I expect it will be sooner; but my world is spinning faster, and my online time may already be limited by then. I don't want hard feelings if the process gets delayed a few days, so I'm factoring that possibility into the mix.

**Edited to add: I've noticed that a few people have posted their application data, but not yet received BH numbers. As long as you meet the membership criteria, I'll accept the application as good enough - just indicate that your number is pending when you submit your GAW entry.**

**Sponsored entrants**

WTH is a Sponsored entrant?
A sponsored entrant is a non-Beckerhead that is "sponsored" by a numbered Beckerhead. While I didn't want to open this giveaway to the entire BF membership, I recognize that not all enthusiasts have met the BH requirements....in addition, these knives are great entries into the world of Becker knives; and I didn't want to totally eliminate the chance that this giveaway could result in putting a first BK in somebody's hands.

Please don't clutter this thread saying you want to sponsor somebody, or requesting that a Beckerhead sponsor you.
B'heads that want to sponsor an entrant should PM or email me. *Be advised - sponsoring a nonBeckerhead passes your ability to participate to that person. Since the rule is one entry per person, you can only sponsor one entrant...and it eliminates you from the giveaway. If you email me, and don't get a response (or see the name added to the list) within a couple days - try again. Sometimes the email system fails.

I'm going to tentatively limit the number of sponsored entrants to 20...if this turns out to be a popular option, I will increase the number.
(If the idea is a big flop, I might take a limited number of nonBeckerhead entrants anyway, for the reasons described above. I'll make that decision later)

If a numbered Beckerhead chooses to keep his entry, but plans to give the prize to a non'head - please let me know (PM or email is fine...it doesn't have to be in your entry post for all to see). It won't matter for the purpose of the planned giveway; but I may decide to offer up the second knife specifically to a nonBH entry

This morning I used the 5 to cut up a pork loin.

Yesterday I was at the park with the kids and I used my BK11 to make a tooth pick to get rid of the lunch stuck in my teeth. Took a picture just as I was starting.

Thanks hhmoore for sponsoring such a great giveaway! Beckerhead #624 checking in!

Here's my new Machax hard at work helping me clear some yard debris from a storm that rolled through recently.

And here's living proof that I need a 15! I mean, I'm reduced to using my BK2 for slicing up hotdogs! ;-)

FWIW: I considered using my BK3 for this shot - that just seemed like overkill :-)

Cool giveaway hhmoore!
Count me in please!

Here's my BK16 before I left for Beckerwest.
Practicing some fire prep.

And here's the BK23 Skeleton making a little fuzz stick.

Well sadly I still don't own a Becker...yet. But, here is my hardest use fixed blade, an OKC Air Force Survival. It is nothing fancy, and certainly a cheapy, but it hasn't let me down thus far. I use it to baton and utility and just everything pretty much. Thank you for the opportunity, and also thank you for sponsoring me!

Beckerhead #131 reporting in :).

I am unapologetically in for myself on this one. I've been wanting to get the Bk16 since I did my first passaround of the preproduction BK17 a few years back. Why have I not purchased it myself, especially now that I'm finally out of college and have "real" job? Its because its been on my wish list (my wife and I keep a gift idea list so that the other spouse can get meaningful things for the other when it comes gift time) for this whole time, and I keep waiting and hoping that it will pop up. So far though, it hasn't happened.

I currently have four Becker blades (9,2,15,11), and would love to add the 16 to the stable.

My favorite Becker is the King. It has become my most used camping knife. I love that I can comfortably carry it on my hip while out, how it can chop if I happen upon some firewood and don't have my folding saw on me, how it feathersticks like a much smaller knife, and how easily it batons any wood that might need splitting. It really is an excellent knife, and its the only one of my knifes (other than my mora) that has come with me on every outing.

However, right now I'm living in way to urban of an area, and I don't get to use it much between camping trips. That, and I think if I took it outside into our apt complexes common area, someone would call management (or something else equally annoying):/. So I was actually struggling to find ways to get these new fun pics of the king being put to work. Hopefully these are acceptable.

Here it is breaking down some fatwood that I collected on my last camping trip. I've already cleaned up a bit in this photo, and have some of it put into mini-tins that fit nicely into the front pocket of the sheath. So, it looks a bit staged, but it was indeed used to baton that fatwood down.

Recently I've worn out a lot of pairs of pants/shirts. What I've decided to do with them is turn them into more Micarta (I want to do more custom scales), instead of just tossing them. I used the BK9 to break down this pair of jeans. It split the side seams easily, and then cut through the waistband. The BK9 does a good job of slicing through the larger areas where multiple seams come together, so then I can lay them flat and use my wifes fabric roller/cutter thing to cut it into strips (way, way faster than a knife). I'm excited to make some scales for the BK16/15 combo that I'd love to have (I also found out a buddy has a CNC machine, and we might be able to 3D model the original scales, and make exact replicas :)).

This is an excellent giveaway, and I thought it was awesome that you let others with the knife volunteer their votes towards someone else that doesn't yet have it. Great job man.

Thanks for the chance :).

Thanks for the chance!

Okay - this one is officially closed.

Check back Monday evening to find out who's getting a tweener.

Things got thrown off course today, and I ended up using a random number generator to select the winner.
Keroscene - you have your choice of a BK15 or BK16.
Semper Praesidio - you have your choice of the one that will be left.
(Based on what both of you stated in your posts, I think that will work out quite well :) )

Please PM me with your shipping information.
