I haven't seen mention of this on the forum just yet. I saw that there is now a page on ESEE's site for the upcoming kitchen knives: http://www.eseeknives.com/beckercooking.htm

And I am finding them available for preorder (don't want to link, not sure of this vendor's status) for $94.95 for the set of 4, plus shipping. Says they are due in August.

Anyone else looking forward to these knives? I imagine more than a few of us will be gifting them either to our selves or to our better halves for heavy duty kitchen use....

I saw that. I posted a link sometime back of a dealer that had them listed. Not in stock yet, but listed.

I'm all over them when they're released. For ~$100 or less for the set...that's a no-brainer.

Equipped to endure has a video with Ethan talking about these knives. Nice little shout out to the Beckerheads at the end!!

I've seen some pre orders for as low as $89 and some change. I'm really looking forward to the set.

I'll have a set of them as soon as I can. I just wish there was a small prep knife, like a 4" chefs type knife.

Love 4" chef's knives! I have a J.A. Henckels one and it is my go to for most kitchen tasks.

I find it amusing that the kitchen knives have a stated HRC. I wonder how well the 7" Santoku can baton...

You mean these old things:

Yeah I'll be getting some!

As for batoning. Yes they can baton, as long as it's through a potato, and you use a carrot as the club. That is from the man's mouth himself. He also said that was the only batoning we could do :(

It kind of looks like they come in only a set, I wonder if they will be sold individually at some point.

Maybe, Ethan said in an interview that more knives will be added to this range but I only remember a cleaver...There were 2 or 3 more aswell.

If they add more knives to the line that would be pretty cool... a full set of ESEE/Becker kitchen knives. I haven't heard anything but when I saw this eariler I put a message in to ESEE... I'll post anything I find out (if it's new). I was surprised to see the preorders because that set isn't in the 2012 catalog yet and I haven't seen a part number... I'm guessing they got a price range from BLADE and are going with that.

Gonna be cool!

Ok it's been added to the catalog and the first price looks about right... the MSRP is 148.81 and there are going to be two "Card Holders" available in either Black or Tan. I'm hoping my butcher block has slots that these fit in... if not I'll have to make one out of Kydex:p Now I can't wait.

Hmmmm....kydex for kitchen knives. Looks like red would do the trick here.

I'll probably hang them on the magnetic strip, since I really don't like having a block on my counter. In the E2E video Ethan mentioned having a larger chef's knife, paring knife, and cleaver coming in the future. After watching that, I actually think the smaller santoku fills the small chef's knife role quite well. The cleaver will be a must have, even if it's more a conversation piece than anything. Aside from that, maybe a classic butcher blade would be nice? I love the old carbon steel 14" butcher blade my grandpa has and have often thought of finding one.

I'll have to get some and put em to the test. I have a Michel Bras knife set, Wusthof Classic set and Kyocera Ceramic set. I also have a Shun Elite yanagiba which is my favorite slicer - sharper than a fisked BK5, fisked by Fisk...
