Hi,

I hope this is the right forum to ask opinions about this machette. Any forumer with experience on this machette. Those without are welcomed to add in their opinions too.

Thanks very much.

This is a light to medium brush machete, meaning if you whack at large branches of hardwood with it you might end up with a two piece machete. IIRC, there was a test done in the reviews forum where it was reported by several forumites that their PM's broke at or near the clip when using it to whack at hardwoods. I have one and it excels at taking out grasses and woody shrubbery but I won't tackle large(1" or thicker) saplings with it.

I've used it on large (2" and greater diameter)saplings, but after reading of the experiences of others, I will not chance hacking on large oak saplings and such. It doesn't appear that the design lends itself well to that kind of work.

Many people find the handles far too slippery on the Becker knives. I have the Patrol Machette, and accidentally cut myself with it due to the slippery handle.

It is said that you can solve the slipperiness problem by roughing up the scales with sandpaper, although I have not tried this yet with mine.
