are either of these going to ever see the light of day?

more to the point, which would you prefer to see first?

My only Kuks are made by Cold steel, so i'd very much like to get my hands on one made by Becker

but a Machete of the same quality as my BK7 is an AWESOME thought

There are plans to release the Patrol Machete, I think the Kukhri could come back if there was enough demand for it.

There is talk of bringing back some more of the bigger Beckers like the Brute and the Patrol Machete but it will be several years if it happens at all.

For now the $90 Kabar Machax is the way to go ( once they are released....) if you don't want to spend BIG $$ on the secondary market for a Camillus blade.

I want a patrol Machete. But I want a Kabar.

The machax and the patrol machete already exist. Getting your hands on a patrol machete won't be very easy but the Machax has now been released by ka-bar and should be able to be purchased soon if not already. As for a straight up standard model of each...only Ethan knows:)

when i say machete, i'm thinking more of a latin shaped machete... or perhaps something like a 14" BK9... /awesome!

IMHO, the Machaxe is a neat tool, but it's not a Kukri... I want one like the camulus Kukri

I'd drop a couple hundred on one of those and hide it from my wife until i could think of a good story

Why not just get a real Khukuri knife? :p

Made by blackjack. If you can find one, take the beating from the wife. Its worth it.

THAT!! ^

gimme!

Not a fan of traditional type Kuks... don't like the handle shape or the brass accents

I'm more interested in a modern tool with modern materials that's optimized for bushcraft

Kukri! Let's just say that I know the current Beckerhead contest for a Machax is dressing up in drag. Not gonna do that for a Machax, but for a Kukri? Yeah, probably would.Hate to say it,but there it is.:D

I'd grow out my hair and pain little bunnies on my fingernails to win a becker kukri

of course as soon as i won it, i'd have to go out and kill 10-15 wild pigs to get my man cred back

That doesn't make sense. The traditional khukuri has been around for about 200 to 500 years if not longer (my history on it is rusty) but the shape and function has not changed overly much due to the fact that it actually works very well out in the field. A lot of the current kukuris are a reflection of those traditional Khukuri such as the one by blackjack. I've heard of users having their own traditional khukuri outlast modern design when being used side by side out in the wilderness. Those Nepalese knives couldn't be more optimized for bush craft as it is.

That's not to say Ka-bar can't match it or exceed it. I even plan on buying various Ka-bar/becker product to be the working mates with my Chitlangi or CAK knives.

perhaps you want a Siegle Khukri? 5160? or his jungle knife... yeah, good times.

there are a few other options for modern made/etc, but they are $$$

O come one bladite, your not even gonna show him your Reinhardt combat khuk?
