Thanks Mike, it's more of a picture sharing therapy session for the "Becker addicted" among us than a review.

I bought my wife the original just before they went out of business. Good to know it can take some abuse. She's never used it.

I like the Ka-Bar version better because it is a flat grind while the Camillus was a high sabre grind. No big thing, just my preference!

I think I might get one of these. Any preferred dealers? Also, I see it's 1095. Does that mean it's "high carbon?" What significance is the "cro van?" Also considering a RAT Izula, but not sure if the extra price is worth it. The reason I'm asking about the carbon content is that I'm wondering if the 90 degree sharpened spine and carbon content would be good as a ferro rod striker (like my Mora Clipper 840). I hate the thought of using the sharp side of a blade to strike a ferro rod (or carrying another crappy blade to do so). I'm gonna try out a hack saw blade as a striker, but I'm concerned about a good controlled grip (the goinggear misch metal rods I love take a bit of force to spark-but the lava payoff if worth it!). Don't know why I'm considering another knife when I love my little Mora so much. I think I might have cought something from the forum..... Thanks for any advice, William

any other knives to consider similar to the Becker Necker and Izula that would be good for ferro rod use (using spine of knife)?

Thanks Joe. I guess I've been wrong to think I needed high carbon to be effective with a ferro rod. Thanks for the info. Neet package deal!

I also been flip-flopping between the two models and can't decide which one i want.
Anybody have a Becker necker and an Izula?
Side by side pics would be cool!

I will probably put wood scales on which ever one i get so the bottle opener end of the Becker is not working in its favor.
And the point looks finer of the Izula.
I do love Beckers though.
Arggggh....hard to decide.
Hmmmm anybody here have a Becker necker or Izula with slabs?

I have the Becker and Izula and I prefer the Izula. I like them both, though.

I have medium size hands and the Izula is more comfortable and the sheath is also more versatile. I think the Izula is a little thinner (thought it's still thick) and is just better proportioned IMO.

Those BKs are nice blades. Im with Ruben and prefer em to the camilus version.

I also like the new offering from Tops! Pretty sweet.
