Have you ever put scales (handles) on a Becker Necker (the Camillus BK11)? I'm interested in any pictures or experiences. I'm thinking micarta. Google does not turn up any pictures on this. Thanks!

It has been done. A while back, I saw one eBay that a custom maker stripped (to remove the black finish) and added micarta scales. I don't have pics though.

you might look in the wilderness forum, i know i've seen several pics of neckers with scales, some very nicely done. if not on this forum then try kf. also there is a company that makes a kydex scale setup for the becker. it would seem to be a fairly straight forward process. heck even i couldn't screw it up, uh well maybe i wouldn't go that far.

Interesting, thanks! I think making scales would be very straightforward. I'm having a little difficulty finding exactly the right fastener but I haven't looked very hard.

for a fastener you could use chicago screw which would allow for removal of the scales for cleaning. just a thought.

I used to have a Necker with a kydex handle made by Sheath Mechanic. I believe the firm is no longer in business. It was pretty simple and held together with Chicago screws.

You can see it on the left:
