Just figured out why my Necker won't hold an edge.
The sheath is dulling the blade when insterting/removing.
Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions for a fix.

i had the same problem with my izula, took the coating off and gave it to much play in the sheath, also dulled the blade

the best option would be to purchase a custom made sheath imo

I have seen this complaint before. If you do a search on the BK&T manufacturers subforum, you will see this. I would agree with razorback, get some new pants made, or make your own for it.

I love the knife, but I wish they would have given it it's own sheath instead of using the same one for the BK-11 and the proposed Mini TacTool.

The sheath for the Becker Necker is a mystery to me. The blade is a drop point, but the sheath looks like it's made for a tanto profile. Why is that? It doesn't look well thought-out.

If you don't want to get a new sheath, you could try reprofiling the edge a bit, remove a little steel and convex it. Which would be a good idea anyway, and it might not rub so much.

You could also tape up your knife, heat up the sheath (taking care not to over heat), and stretch the kydex a bit.

The sheath was designed to fit both the necker and the tac tool. That is the reason for the compromised fit.

Some one on the Becker subforum gave the advice to boil the sheath and then press it flat between two boards to tighten it's fit. If you repost this question on that subforum you may find some other solutions as well.

Custom kydex would be the way to go for a proper fit though. But the sheath may cost as much as the knife.

it's supposed to fit the small tac-tool as well. even though no one has a small tac tool:rolleyes:

I wouldn't suggest doing this. Heating up the sheath will make it completely loose its form and become something similar to a limp noodle. You can't just use a board to press it between either. It has to be something with give that will form the kydex around the knife.
