Every Friday when I was going through the public schools in Iowa we had cinnamon rolls. They were served either with tacos or with chili. My favorite was chili and cinnamon rolls. We also got a chocolate milk on those days. Decided to make the meal tonight.

Only people who were at BFG 2012 will know what is underneath the chili here.

Hmmmmmm....cinnamon is a major part of the flavor profile in Cincinnati chili......Probably works......

Looks quite tasty Doc.....

I was just thinking the same thing! And boy, is that Cincinnati style versatile stuff, (I usually put a little sugar in mine as well, so why not?)

And for the record, those grits are a game-changer. I want to put them under/with everything now. Down right addictive!

I love grits! and i love chili! seems like a good combo, nice work.

You want to know a great combo? grits and peanut butter! I swear just try it.

Man it seems each generation less and less people are eating grits. seems everyone want shredded wheat oatmeal or something sugar based, man id choose grits over any type of sugar cereal. i notice this to be more true up here in the north. I have to go to a walmart super center to get them because my normal shopping market doesnt even carry them.

time for a 1am snack-

we had chili yesterday, too -- but no cinnamon rolls on the side, only venison backstrap & butterflied loin chops.

And don't you DARE throw the leftover grits away. Fry them in bacon grease and either eat with the chili again or serve with bacon and eggs.

Snooty types will make a salad with goat cheese wheels, fried grits and other delicacies. Very tasty.

Every time I go to Cracker Barrel they give me Grits and I always ask for a bottle of there Pure Maple Syrup and extra Butter -- only way to eat your Grits.!!
1066vik knows what I mean when your talking Grits & Syrup ~~ yummm*
