I just got the new release of the Ka-bar Becker Necker carbon steel version.

My first impressons are that it is very sharp. Nice smooth lines with no snagability with the exception of the designed bottle opener/line breaker. It appears to be all I hoped for. I just received it, so it has seen no action other then a check of it's sharpness. I plan to use it some today if the weather permits.

The sheath is very nice and solid, actually much better then I expected. It has a positive lock system that will not let the knife slip out....actually it is very hard to unsheath the knife all together.

Very nice, and I am glad I waited the year or so to get it.

I would like to know how you fellas that have them carry them for easy access? I really want one of the Ka-bar belt clips, but I here they are out of stock. Any suggestions for convenient carry would be great.

I would also like to here stories of how you used your Necker in ways you did not imagine when you first got it. It looks like it has lots of posibilities with it's design?
Thanks

There is a thread running in parallel in the Wilderness forum. That has a good number of responses. I love this knife. I bought an original replaced it with an RAT3 then replaced that with a new model San Mei. I want to add a clip for belt carry but I fear the holes on the sheath won't work. I will probably make a leather replacement sheath.

Is KA-BAR-1480CLIP-TDI-Metal-Belt-Clip the clip to which you refer? Do you know if it will work?

Hey Agent Iron & Pinetree......

I always wear mine right side up tucked into my shirt with the bottom of the grip pointed toward the weak hand..... When returning the knife hold the sheath in the weak hand etc....re tuck ...

The TDI Clip is the one you want and it does work well....

If you have any other questions >will be back on the forums sunday night or monday.....

I hope you like your NECKER and I hope you let me knoww about it!!!!

All Best...

Thanks fellas!

What service.... answers right from the maker!

I have heard the TDI clip is out of stock through Ka-bar. Would the Tek-loc work?

Ethan, is there any other purpose for the holes in the knife, I mean what other functions can, or was it designed for?

Thanks

I must be ignorant, I can't find the forum and thread you mention, do you have a link for a poor soul?

I asked the same question about the belt clip in an earlier thread and Ethan was nice enough to respond. I checked the Ka-bar website and saw that they're out of the TDI belt clip but if you google it you'll find some websites that are carrying it. My Becker Necker should be arriving anyday (I was hoping it would be here today) so a belt clip will be my next purchase. I've go a camptrip coming up where I'm hoping to try out the Necker and I can't wait.

Thanks for the post, it provoked me to search and I found a sight I wanted to order some other things from! That is great news. I hope you love your new knife, I am confident you will.

^ have you found a clip yet to fit your sheath?

give me the eyelet to eyelet measurement, i may have an extra for ya!

It looks like 2" center to center on the short side, and just shy of 2 3/8" on the long side. Knives plus has them for just under $10.
Thanks

Hey Ethan, I may have missed it, but do you have a date when the BK7 and BK9 will be available for sale? I thought I read you were waiting on sheathes. Any new info?

Also, can you give some info on the uses of the TacTool? I know what it is supposed to do, but can you give some of your personal input, or input you have received on the tool in real use?

Thanks

Hey Agent,

I asked Ethan the same question and he sent this reply at 6:30 PM yesterday:

"The sheaths should arrive in Olean this week and I am certain that they will be kicking 'em in the boxes and shipping 'em out forthwith."

Hey Guys...

I just got off the phone with Paul at Ka-Bar and the sevens AND nines are shipping as we speak.....

Agent...The TACTUL has been around for quite a while now and has racked up service i THREE wars and has found fans among the SWAT and dignitary protection people as well as war fighters....It is one of the two BK&T knives to have NSN numbers and usually reliable souces tell me that the SpecOps guys busting down doors like to have one along....It is no substitute for a ram, but,it works wonders when you left the ram at the door....

All Best...
