I originally shared this with the guys on BCUSA a couple of weeks back but as I've signed up here.....and you did ask for pics
.
I was aiming at making a neck sheath and it does work at that but is , to be honest, perhaps a bit hefty for purpose.
It's not toooo heavy but is a little bulky. Having said that I do find it OK and I'm not at all used to neckers.
It's working out fine as a pocket sheath though and is great for sticking in the corner of a pack or pouch.
I originally got the idea from this old archived Outdoors-Magazine.Com article on the making of a Dannyboy Leather sheath for a Scott Gossman PSK.
The front pocket can hold a small PSK or a SAK like a Vic Spartan or Tinker and was wet formed over a wooden mold to shape it.
I stripped the blade and added a light patina too, the wrap is gutted para cord.
When stringing up the neck cord the bottle opener came in handy as an extra securing method by looping the cord over it . The weight of the BK11 and sheath pulls it tight, that and the friction fit makes a pretty secure carry.
Cheers,
Pete.
