Becker Necker or EsKabar

I've been thinking about getting a necker for a while now and it really comes down to the BK11 and the BK14. Already have a Bk2 and man do I love that thing, so I figure the love will continue with one of these. Opinions? On a side note I heard you can remove the liners on the izula scales and have a perfect fit on the bk14.
 
It really comes down to what you like in a handle. The BK11 is a little to short for me. When I buy gloves, the are Medium Large if that helps. Both are great, tough knives. The 11 does have the wirebreaker/beer opener. The 14 will take the Izula scales, but you have to carve a little on the insert, the BK14 is a little thicker in the handle. But you can get micarta for the 11 also and that makes a huge difference in the feel of that knife. Either way, you're not wasting money.

I tried a BK11 years back and didn't like the feel.
I love my Eskabar.
 
buy both. sell the one you don't like. easy peasy :> or make a gift of it. be a hero! i'll send my address :>
 
I love my Eskabar, I keep it in my front pocket....

Never tryed the Becker Necker, the Eskabar does just fine
 
I have and like both. The Eskabar is a little more comfortable whittling, but I like the multi-function of the BK-11 and don't find it uncomfortable.
 
Mmmm The bk11 has a bottle opener, and you can aquire scales for it!, anyone know where to procure said scales?

Thanks, but now I'm recosidering the scales(they're about the same price as the knife). Anyone had the scales, or for that matter any scales on a necker? I like the idea of adding some bulk to the knife but not at double the cost. Opinions, Cord wrap or scales?
 
I wanted to have a signature but couldn't afford the gold membership atm. so for a day I copy and pasted that... Then I realized how monotonous and tiresome it became and I stopped
 
The key question everyone has missed: Do you drink domestic or imported beer? :p
 
Hold a beer by the neck as close to the top as possible. Take the spine of the blade and put it under the cap and push up. You can do this with any knife that isn't tiny. I do it with my pocket knives all the time. No need for a special opener. :thumbup:
