i recently got a becker necker off of amazon.com. of all the reviews on there 1 guy had a bad review on it. Said the knives ka-bar sells to amazon are defective. So i risked it thinking this guy was nuts. Got knife yesturday, and the knife wont click into sheath like its supposed too. i was really trying and nothing. Also the tip is slightly bent and its really really dull. Looks like i got a defective one.:(....Anyone else have this problem? Should i contact kabar or just send it back?

I got one through Amazon and everything is perfect it did come a little dull but I didn't have super high expectations.

they would never send them off to Amazon to be sold as defective without being disclosed.. that's total bull..

sure it wasn't a used knife..? they sell those also, click on the wrong one and there you have it..

Just return it to Amazon if it was defective right out of the box. I had to do that with a Byrd Raven I bought from them (the liner lock didn't engage properly) and didn't have any issues. I order quite a bit of stuff from Amazon (books, CDs, movies, knives, etc.) and have always found their return process to be excellent/easy. They'll even overnight you a replacement if you choose to get an exchange instead of a refund.

+1 Amazon is pretty good about returns. They'll refund or send another no questions asked.

I'm not sure if KA-BAR or another vendor sold it to you via Amazon or not. Amazon has an outstanding return policy.

That said, I sell on the internet and at least 2x's a week I get an email from them asking me to call and sell my products through them. This would be great except I already sell at rock bottom prices. Even marked up, Amazon wants a big piece of the sale.

I can easily see vendors that want to unload a bunch of "not the best quality" items on Amazon, just to get rid of them and buy more and replenish their supplies. I would not think that the bigger companies would ever do this for reputation's sake. Like KA-BAR for instance. That would make them look bad.

Smaller cheap priced website companies might "possibly" employ this strategy but I wouldn't say that for sure. Most customers DON'T return low end products though, so the temptation is always there. Just my $.02

Contact Kabar and send it in to their warranty department.

Kabar has A++ Customer service. They'll hook you right up.

Return or exchangemthru Amazon. IIRC, they'll pay return shipping.

Your $.02 is money well spent, thanks for the information.. Makes a lot of sense to me.. (or is it cents?)
