Sounds to me like you're trying to squeeze an awful lot out of either knife.
EDC? lightweight, thin, low profile handy, used for simple day to day cutting chores, I'd suggest the baby Becker.
Outdoors, carving fuzz sticks, cleaning fish and critters, idling time near the campfire whittling on a handy chunka Birch or whatever, I'd go with the RAT, due to it's larger more comfortable handle.
Overall, I'd say the RAT would be more user friendly while the Becker would be handier. All depends on where your priorities lie I reckon. Also bear in mind that you could take the micarta handles off a RAT more easily than you could put grip panels onto the Becker.
If it were me personally I'd go with the RAT between the two, just due to the difference in handle size and the full flat grind. Also, I live in a pretty knife friendly enviroment where the open carry of a fixed blade knife doesn't automatically conjur up negative images in people or put cops and security on red alert when I go out and about.
Both of them are darn nice knives though. Hope you enjoy whatever ya' choose!
