I've had all three of these knives and I suppose that what I would consider the best for me may not be the best for you. It would all depend on your intended uses for whichever knife you choose. For self defense, the MOD could be very effective except for the fact that it lacks in the handle length..at least for me anyways. I had to add a lanyard to grip it a little better. The SPOT excels in the SD area as well due to the fact that your finger/hand actually becomes an extension of the handle.

You do however deal with a shorter blade length with the MOD and SPOT when compared to the Necker. Of the three, the Becker is the only one that I still have. I find it highly useful as a belt knife as well as it's intended use as a neckknife which is one reason that I decided on keeping it out of the three you've mentioned. I've used the Necker in the kitchen as well as whittling and other minor cutting tasks at work like cutting rubber tie down straps and mudflaps. Personally, the Necker fits my occasional cutting needs and would be my recommendation out of the the three.

Be advised though, as I mentioned, choosing one of these would mainly be done after thinking about what type of cutting chores you would need to accomplish in your everyday tasks.

Good Luck

The Becker is the much more useful utility blade. The SPOT is designed as a serious people-opener. I've used it for utility tasks, but it's not the most handy knife I've ever owned.. Never handled the BM enough to develop an opinion.
