I have considered getting this knife with some of my tax return, but wanted some input from users first. It will be a daily carry to supplement my SAK Alox Farmer. Is it possible to carry the knife and sheath in a pants pocket without the knife slipping out of the sheath? Does the carbon steel rust as easily as say, an Opinel. I seem to be really into fixed blades lately and I like the thin profile on this one. Thanks for the help.

Had it for about 2 or 3 months and i like it. holds an edge good, came very sharp, I haven't had a problem with rust but a little break free would solve that. in my opinion any neck knife isn't that practical for day to day use in the business world so I use mine mostly while fishing, hiking or out at night. I sometimes carry mine in my rfp and it works fine. I should point out i'm a fat guy and my pockets have a little uh pressure on them. If your a stick boy then it may fall out. the sheath mechanic does some nice mods to this little knife so you might try him. bottom line I like it. good luck ahgar

1. The knife sort of "snaps" in and out of the sheath; I don't see that it could just slip out.

2. The edge definitely rusts if you let it. I noticed some shortly after I used the knife around salt water. It wasn't bad and came off very easily with 0000. Since then I wipe it with a Tuf Cloth just once in a while and it's never rusted since. (And BTW it takes a great edge, wicked sharp.)

3. I think it's a helluva great knife, especially for the money. A winner.

i concure with the above posts. i reprofiled the edge slightly on mine and love it . the sheath was a little tight at first but some hot water took care of that . awesome knife that'll take a beating . batons easily too!

I have had one for about a year. I love it. no problems and came very sharp out of the box. I have seen some of them on this forum I think with some custom handles that made them an awsome looking knife.Great size blade. I too do not use mine very often. Neck knives just aren't my thing. I think it could be used in a pocket or possibbly sent to someone like bob dozier to make a custom sheath. I called dozier a while back and they were very reasonably on their sheath prices, but you have to send them the knife.

I have a knives of Alaska fixed blade in D-2 steel that I carry pretty often. It makes a really nice EDC. Holds a great edge and not too bad a sheath either.
Good luck

Yet another  Solid little blade--I also thinned the edge a tad, but that's personal preference. If you polish the edge up a good bit and wipe it clean/dry after use it shouldn't rust. Sailors used iron and non-stainless steel blades for thousands of years. :)

I'll give it

Super knife for $30
I used ot to skin several deer this past season and it worked great.

Thanks guys for the response. I had to bail out for a while as I have been really busy with school and medical issues. Our internet at school is being monitored by a fascist nothing-but-homework policy since someone got caught looking at something "inappropriate" during a class that I am in. All the reviews for the Necker sound great and I will probably end up with one after my income tax return gets back to me. Again, thanks a bunch.
