Has any one seen one of these before? I picked this up and never knew about them!

Yeah, I have one. Wasn't sure if they're still available. Vendor was limited to stock on hand.
 
Yeah, decent price too, I believe I paid $33 shipped. I don't care for serrations but it comes in handy occasionally. Works out well for a 4th 14 heh...
 
It's a Becker so you know it's a good blade and a good buy. But, I'd have to pass on it because it's serated.
 
Not particularly, in my experience they just didn't move very well. They are still out there. I have one, but it was cause I was collecting all the variants on the 11. It's my favorite knife for EDC. I have the Camillus, Ka-Bar (uncoated and coated), Serrated, and San Mai. It's just a stupid handy blade to carry!

I usually will carry the serrated if I'm going to be working with a lot of line, or rope.

The BK14SG and was available from a few online dealers like Amazon and Knifecenter as recently as last April 2015.

Regardless, it seems to have been a limited run as well, possibly to judge market interest.

Are we talking bout the same knife. I googled bk14sg and it comes up the one with the handle on the bk 14. Mine is the first in the post an Becker necker handle

Right, your's is the serrated BK11, the other is the serrated BK14 designated as the BK14SG.

Both seem to be limited runs, 2010? and 2014, respectively.
 
I got one a couple years ago - as previously mentioned it was a limited run for specific vendors iirc, mine was $65 and came with the factory micarta which I used on my regular 11. The serrated one was more just a "because I can and its available" purchase since I'm not a serrated guy lol

That's why I snatched it up. Didn't have one in my Becker family lol
