Just ordered my bk11 to complete my becker collection! Is there anywhere i can buy preformed handle scales for it? I am pretty handy at projects but would rather do it the lazy way and would of course like to have bolts and nuts that could be removed when desired. And too i am not interested in sending the piece off to have it fitted with scales which is why i am requesting info on preformed scales.

The necker arrived and i discovered that it takes a man and two boys to release it from the kydex! Anyone else have this problem?

Man your lucky, I had to tie my sheath to a tree and tie a rope to the handle of the knife and put my truck in low 4WD before mine would release!!!! I've got one that works great, but the last one I bought is a bear to get out. I'm planning on sending both of them to the sheathmechanic to get handles and he can adjust the sheath while they are there.

I've got a couple like this. Re-heating doesn't work, they tighten back up. I had to take my knife out of the sheath, and rub the throat of the sheath against a file until I took it down where it was not holding so tight. Good luck.

It loosens up with use, and from the heat of your chest when you carry it around your neck. It is a bit annoying, I know, but don't worry about it. Better than being too loose and falling out in your shirt!

Exactly right Will.
I have worn mine almost every day around my neck for that last two years. On hot summer days when your body produces more heat, the sheath will loosen up, so tight right now is good. Never thought I would hear a bunch of guys complain about something being too tight.

I did a strider wrap on the handle and find it a very useful gripping surface, much thicker than i thought it would be. I will be looking for a piece of micarta to make some scales since this little knife wont be used for anything that would damage micarta. And the wrapped handle tends to collect sweat and moisture and gets dirty it is not a good gripping surface for a carbon blade.
