It's a really nice knife. Some people don't like the wire breaker/bottle opener on the butt, but it's a very good blade (although I wish the handle was a little longer). Understand that I don't own one yet, but I have researched them and have handled one.

One more quick question, Amazon.com says they are "made in the USA", but I thought the new Ka-Bar/Beckers were Taiwan, or am I wrong?

All Beckers are made in America (Oleans, NY), except for the little BK-13 that comes with the BK-7 and BK-9 ... and that's about to change. Soon even the BK-13 will be made in America. Ethan Becker wants all of his knives made here.

The more expensive San Mai necker (BK-11CSM) is, however, made in Japan.
The Becker sheaths are made either in Taiwan or China, depending on the model.
The rest of the Becker knives, except the BK-13 as dawsonbob stated, are made in the US.

True. I'd forgotten about the San Mai version. All the others are made in the US though.

I think they are a good value at around 30 which is what I think I last spent. I really like the blade, but agree that the handle seems a bit short. Doing the paracord wrap helps. Maybe scales are on the way. The 1095 Cro-Van steel seems to beg to be convexed. I've got a bunch of knives, but think the BK-11 is my favorite, possibly second to my RC-4, but my brother in law and brother have held on to that knife so long on the family pass around that I can't remember what it was like :-(.

I think you'll like it. Some folks don't like the sheath Ka-Bar designed for it compared to the old Camillus style, but I like it. I added a TDI clip to it and prefer to carry it that way most times compared to neck carry. http://www.tomarskabars.com/1480_Clip_INFO.html

Yeah, I can see this making a great necker for fishing and stuff. The sheath might be a little big for under the shirt EDC, but I'll try it and see.
I get away with the RAT Izual sheath OK, and while this one is wider, it's not really any thicker.
