Just a heads up that there will be a passaround coming up in the forum...

Hey, we have passaround rules now too. Surprise. They're in the FAQ post for now. Generally, they'll be the base rules, with perhaps some modifications as things evolve, and circumstances dictate... Go check'em out. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=710297

From the passaround rules, the major thing to keep in mind: '''Special notes for this passaround… Since we don't have a Beckerhead mechanism in place yet (numbers/names) and this IS intended to be a special Becker Forum event, there are some exclusionary qualifications. You must have posted to the Becker Forum on or prior to 2010-10-31, own a Becker knife, and have at least 50 posts. There it is.'''

Feel free to discuss the rules/etc. They're not set in stone [yet] :barf:

Also feel free to wonder what is going to be passed around :eek:

This is NOT the signup thread. That will be later, with the item in question stated, and what we're going to do with it, etc. I'm assuming there's interest of course.

Looks like I just missed this.

I've been doing lots of reading and not much posting trying to figure out which becker I want for christmas.

So far I'm down to:

BK2 would be the perfect knife for what I would use it for, but the BK9 is just awesome. The only thing I don't like about the BK2 is the sheath problems. I'm leaning towards BK9 first and then a BK2 later.

At any rate, there WILL be a Becker under the tree this year!
 
Please oh please include a machax - I would KILL to try one of those out! Might also get a few more people excited about its eventual revival.
 
Perhaps, the Tweeners will be the subjects...?
I would like to participate in this passaround, as well (may I..?). I'll keep an eye out for the sign up thread.

@koolaidman505 - basically qualify from the above rules and get to play with (that were gonna totally buy after handling) knives!

I'll have to pass if it's a Brute, don't know if I could send it back :D

I second the Machax, and the tweeners.

let me at least be a downer on the brute at least. quell THAT rumor. no brute. KaBar just isn't going to make that model.

unless someone offers one as their own personal passaround (which can happen) of course. scary thought eh? :)

Yeah, I second that on the BK1 Brute, its just not that great. Don't get me wrong, this is a good firewood splitter, and but to compare it to the other Becker products, it the least useful of the bunch, take it from someone who recently took it out for a spin.

There are other knives in the current Becker/Kabar line up that far exceed it in every category. Chopping, slicing, etc. I bet there are others that would even baton better as well, say the 9, 7, 2, 5.

Hey Bladite, what about me doing a passaround? I couldn't see anything in the FAQ about that. Or is there an edit? Thanks

i imagine that personal passarounds are just fine. read your mail too :)

this particular passaround features a blade from our Toooj the Toooj via KaBar and will be returned to him for evaluation after the pasaround. real world testing by real people. don't stick it in a vise ;)

i hope its the machax.i saw one in a army surplus store 5 years ago for about 40 bucks and being that id never heard of bk&t,i didnt buy it.now im kicking myself for it.
 
Well if this goes well, there should be a few passarounds, not just one. I got one that I'll do after we get this one done with. Should I tell you? Or should I let you guess what mine will be? Decisions, decisions, decisions. I don't know, I can't make up my mind, perhaps some swaying might be in order.

Tweeners. Is that all anyone can talk about anymore? Well, if so, I'm one of those people, too.

If Tweener's are going to be passed around, put me on the list, too. I can't wait to get my hands on one of those babies. I'd even take pics of it whittling one of the palm trees in my yard, and do a write up on how it handles.

Tweener's? Yeah, oh yeah, for sure. A man's got to have something to look forward to, after all.
