Anyone have experience with or opinions on the Becker Patrol Pack. I saw it in my Brigage Quartermasters catalog and really like the looks. I like all of the separate pockets that it shows for separating and organizing. Looks like it's probably for when you need a lot of gear though.

I have used mine few a few years now, military use. very good pack. The newer style has no pockets, but has pals webbing to attach what you want or need for pouches. With all the pockets it is good to organize your stuff.

Anyone have any suggestions for another pack that would have a variety of separate pockets and compartments for separating and organizing. I am actually looking for 2 types or sizes. One larger one for backpacking and hiking and a smaller type to put at work and vehicle for emergencies preparedness.

I love mine! But I might be bias, Ethan Becker gave me mine. It is a well thought out update to the military pack.

Was searching the web some after posting this and saw some Maxpedition packs that looked interesting. Any opinions or comments on this brand.

for the price I would get something that is made in USA

I have a Maxpedition Fatboy shoulder bag (read: tactical man purse ;) )
for a year. It has held up nicely and seems to be a made well too.

I just bought this Mountainsmith back pack. It is the Approach ll.
2500ci. While not as big as the Becker it holds a bunch. May fill your niche for a smaller pack.

The axe pictured with it is a GB Sm Forest, 19" handle for scale.
There are outer side pockets, hydro pocket, rear pocket with mesh key pocket inside of it. And the neatest feature is the space/open pocket between the main bag and the outer pocket. Great for a poncho, sweater or maybe bike helmet.
Multi adustable (thick) waist and shoulder straps. Internal sheet frame with wire hoop.
I haven't hiked with it yet. Used it for luggage on a car camp and took it for a short walk while loaded with all sorts of sharp and pointy (read: heavy) stuff.
Seems like a winner to me. It's available at the big name shops, REI, EMS, Campmoor etc.
Hope it helps.

Had one of the Brigade QM's Beckers... Liked the bag and all it's little details, great features... But the suspension system sucks...
Mountain Smith makes just about the finest suspension system I've used, and I think it's the same OMNI belt as KIFARU is now using... their bags just don't have all the other features some of the Patrol Pack, Maxpedition's packs or CamelBaks packs have...
