I was on another forum and someone just got a new Becker and one of the first things they said in their post was they were going to get rid of the "Junk Sheath". So I thought I would put my 2 cents out there.
I find the BK Sheaths very serviceable. They are durable and offer the option of carrying something else along with the knife (my main focus is always fire). Here are a few pics of my 7 with the kit that rides along with it. I have had this set up for 6 years and the knife and the sheath have a lot of miles on them. You can see where the sheath has stretched out a bit, but there is no sign of failure or fatigue. This setup has let me have a one tool option to carry in the woods with nothing else but a water bottle carrier. I challenge anyone to come up with a more compact easy to carry kit that can handle bushcraft or survival if needed all in the sheath and ride on your hip out of the way until you need it. I have the 4 of the 5 C's here and am just missing "Covering"
Any way, I thought I would just put this out here because although I really want a 710 custom for my 16, the 5, 7 and 15 should never need to be replaced and I really like the stock sheaths.

Good set up you have there! I get along with the factory sheath just fine. I like to throw a multitool in the little pouch.

I can't agree more.
Some folks are just sheath snobs and feel like every Blade should just come with the best badass sheath possible.
Ya get what you pay for. I'd rather not pay $180 for a $100 Knife with an $80 sheath. I'd rather pay $100 for a custom built to my specs.
I've had zero issues with the stock sheath. I enjoy a custom sheath for carrying, for the smaller, better looking, etc appeal but for tromping through the woods I usually grab the stock. If I'm doing some tasks, I like to be able to just slide the Knife in and out easily, then if I walk around etc I'll strap it down.

Maybe its because I've never had a custom sheath, but I also find the stock sheaths just fine (particularly the tweeners). They hold the knife in place and let you attach it to you or your gear in a few different ways. Seems fine to me :).

Additionally, as I'm a super penny pincher type person, the thought of buying a knife (while Beckers are good value, they'are also right at the top of my price range), then immediately spending $40-100 on a custom sheath really is hard for me. Personally that puts the price range out of some other nice knives, including some customs. So maybe thats why I tend to stick with a stock sheath.

Nice kit you got there :).

A 710 custom sheath for the 16 makes it the perfect edc knife.

Nice sheath, that's what I was thinking. I usually carry my 16 when I am out in the wood and I have my daypack or backpack with me, so I have a folding saw and a small axe, plus all usual gear.

I much prefer leather, especially Dex's work, but I 100% agree here. I honestly think the stock sheaths are great, durable and practical. The larger blades like the 7 seem a little oversized at times but no biggie, still very nice sheaths I think.

Never had a major problem with any of my KA-BAR sheaths. Just nit-picks about them. I just wish I could make the sheaths I wanted.
